Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center ICU in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living (ADL's), monitor patients, and help keep the bedside area clean and safe.

As part of Centralus Health, you will work onsite at Cayuga Medical Center with two 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45pm–7:15am), every other weekend and holidays as assigned; pay ranges from $19.47 to $25.75 per hour, with equal employment

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification will be provided if needed.
• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) is preferred.
• Mandatory Orientation Training: one full week of Monday through Friday 8a-4p prior to starting work on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings to the RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
