Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Nursing Aide to support a Critical Care unit in Grafton, IA. The role involves assisting the RN with daily patient care, monitoring vitals, documenting in EMR, and participating in admissions and transfers.

The position requires BLS and a CNA/Nurse Aide credential with a GED or HS diploma. Expect 36 hours weekly, 3- or 6-week rotating shifts, and holiday rotation. Comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and intake/output; documents in EMR accurately.
• Performs purposeful rounding under RN supervision and communicates observations.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under RN direction.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Runs errands, maintains stock, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with proper technique.
• Maintains skin integrity and uses patient supplies and appliances appropriately.
• May assist with IVs, post mortem care, and bladder scans as directed.
• Practices infection prevention and uses PPE as required.
• Provides age-appropriate care across life span per department policies.
