Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an RN Team Lead to act as a formal and informal leader on the unit, coordinating daily work, delegating patient care, and supporting staff development. The role emphasizes leadership in nursing practice, evidence-based care, and collaboration with management to optimize unit efficiency.

The position requires RN licensure, ADN or diploma, and may include direct clinical care and a focus on transitions of care in alignment with Mayo Clinic Nursing Care Model.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an associate degree or diploma in a nursing program.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is also required.
• Current RN licensure by applicable state requirements.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from recognised programs.
• Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the unit and coordinate daily planning and patient flow.
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, patient acuity, resources, and fiscal accountability.
• Provide leadership through staff development, teaching, and precepting; participate in quality improvements and research.
• Coordinate nursing care across the continuum of care and ensure effective transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice within Mayo Clinic Nursing Care Model.
