Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) to deliver direct patient care for high-acuity ICU patients in a multidisciplinary environment within the Department of Anesthesia in Critical Care. Coverage includes Neuro ICU and Medical ICU with off-hour, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Required are a Master’s degree in PA or Nursing, MA licensure, prescriptive authority (DEA), BLS/ACLS, and NCCPA/ARC-PA certification; 0–1 years of related

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Physician Assistant.
• License required: Physician Assistant License, and Certificate 1 required: Basic Life Support
• ARC-PA, NCCPA
• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate & ACLS
• Valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
• Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and families.
• Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care.
• Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services; develops and implements care plans.
• Educates staff and serves as a clinical resource through consultations, seminars, and continuing education.
• Collaborates with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families.
