Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in Illinois (RN)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• ACLS certifications as applicable to ICU/stepdown units

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote and maintain health
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Complete accurate documentation in the patient record
• Support patient safety and quality of care through policy input
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed
• Advocate for patients through collaboration with health professionals
• Ensure timely education, competencies, and licensure
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency
