Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles (MLKCH) is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts.

The Clinical Staff Nurse provides expert nursing care, using the Watson Model and SBAR handoffs, with 12-hour accountability for a defined patient group. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, documentation, and active participation in discharge coordination, quality improvement, and patient/family education.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing or higher; BSN preferred.
• Current California RN license.
• Critical care experience preferred; new to specialty considered with residency.
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour ICU nursing care per patient/family needs.
• Perform ongoing assessment and adjust care plans.
• Document using IPOC and SBAR handoffs.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care team.
• Maintain patient safety and regulatory standards.
