Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital in Alabama is seeking an ICU RN for a full-time night shift (three 12s). You will provide advanced nursing care for critically ill patients, utilize monitoring systems, and respond to emergencies with established protocols while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

The role requires an Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of acute care experience (2+ preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing and eligible for Alabama RN license.
• Current Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification current.
• 1 year of RN experience in an acute care facility; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments, high‑intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring.
• Uses clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
• Operates, monitors, and adjusts specialized medical equipment and interprets data from monitoring systems.
• Responds to emergencies using established nursing standards, protocols, and life‑saving interventions.
• Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Advocates for patients and families while ensuring age‑appropriate care across the lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.
• Documents care accurately, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures compliance with evidence‑based practice and regulatory standards.
