Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, is looking for a Patient Care Assistant to join the ICU team. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) includes rotating holidays and supports basic nursing care under the RN in charge.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or CNA certification, phlebotomy and EKG preferred, BLS within 30 days, and prior experience in acute care. The role emphasizes patient assistance, safety, and collaboration with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
