Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA, seeks a Student Nurse Intern (SNI) for ICU-NICU to work under a registered nurse in the day shift. The role supports care with supervision, participates in care planning, and maintains patient confidentiality while ensuring safety protocols.

The SNI must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (ASN or BSN) with specific semester completion, and be prepared to validate skills through the school/Preceptor requirements. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 3rd semester (ASN) or 4th semester (BSN).
• Enrollment in RN program or Kaweah Health/Unitek nursing program affiliation as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates and communicates with the patient/family and other health care providers.
• Formulates plan of care with the RN and involves patient/family in care decisions.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to safety and infection control policies.
• Performs basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures under RN supervision.
• Documents care provided in the EMR promptly.
