Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX seeks a competent Registered Nurse to provide routine and complex care in a critical care setting. The nurse will practice independently, use the nursing process, and delegate as needed.

The schedule is 7AM–7PM with Per Diem As Needed; required BLS, with ACLS within grace period. New nurses attend orientation within 30 days and complete competency validations on time.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and an active RN license in Texas or compact
• 1 year of Critical Care experience preferred; new grads considered
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or must be obtained within grace period
• ACLS, PALS, or TNCC may be required within specified timeframes
• New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire; on-boarding validated
• Annual competency validations completed

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process with assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor side-effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms and care provided
• Educate patients and families; assess learning needs and resources
• Delegation as appropriate to other care providers to manage clinical situations
