Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Chattanooga is seeking an ICU Kennel Technician to support our Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Hospital in Knoxville. This entry-level role focuses on hands-on animal care, cleanliness, and assisting ICU staff with critically ill patients, with mentorship to grow into a Veterinary Assistant role.

The Sunday–Tuesday overnight 12-hour shift pays $16.00–$18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and hospital equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ICU environment.
• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with patient care and daily hospital operations.
• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments.
• Walk, feed, and monitor hospitalized patients as directed.
• Stock supplies and ensure treatment areas remain fully equipped.
• Launder bedding and maintain hospital cleanliness standards.
• Assist with patient transport throughout the hospital.
• Support the ICU team during emergency and critical care procedures.
• Learn veterinary assistant skills through on-the-job training and mentorship.

Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 / hour

About the Role

As an ICU Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our Intensive Care Unit team by maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment, assisting veterinary technicians and doctors, and helping provide exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured pets.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in building a long-term career in veterinary medicine.
