Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Knoxville is seeking an ICU Kennel Technician for overnight shifts to support the ICU team by keeping the hospital clean, assisting technicians and doctors, and ensuring excellent patient care for critically ill pets.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to start a long-term career in veterinary medicine, with training and mentorship available and a pathway to advanced veterinary assistant roles.

Qualifications

• Entry-level opportunity in veterinary medicine.
• Must be willing to learn and be mentored.
• Willing to work overnight shift.
• Experience in animal care is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and hospital equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ICU environment.
• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with patient care and daily hospital operations.
• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments.
• Walk, feed, and monitor hospitalized patients as directed.
• Stock supplies and ensure treatment areas remain fully equipped.
• Launder bedding and maintain hospital cleanliness standards.
• Assist with patient transport throughout the hospital.
• Support the ICU team during emergency and critical care procedures.
• Learn veterinary assistant skills through on-the-job training and mentorship.

ICU Kennel Technician - Overnight

Department: Boarding

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 / hour

About the Role:

As an ICU Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our Intensive Care Unit team by maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment, assisting veterinary technicians and doctors, and helping provide exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured pets.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in building a long-term career in veterinary medicine.

Schedule: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday overnight 12 hour shift

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:

• Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and hospital equipment


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ICU environment


• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with patient care and daily hospital operations


• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments
