Job summary

Advocate Health IL Resource Team is seeking a flexible Float RN to deliver high-quality ICU nursing across multiple hospitals and units in Illinois. The role requires adaptability to diverse patient needs and environments.

You will apply the nursing process, collaborate with care teams, document in EHR, and uphold a culture of safety. ICU experience, IL RN license, BLS and ACLS are required, with ongoing professional development encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in IL.
• BLS certification; ACLS is required or preferred depending on specialty.
• Minimum ICU RN experience of 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and maintains timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Communicates effectively, shows leadership, and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and provides integrated, unbiased patient care.
• May float to other units/facilities as needed within the service area.
