Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team. The RN uses the nursing process to provide therapeutic care, coordinate patient education, and support the patient and family in a compassionate environment.

Responsibilities include accurate assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions, and documentation; administering medications and IV therapy; discharge planning; and collaboration with case managers and physicians.

Qualifications

• BSN or grandfathered BSN eligibility.
• 1 year acute inpatient RN experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of medical procedures including blood collection and apheresis.
• Commitment to patient care and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Current CA RN license.
• BLS required; ACLS required for specified departments.
• Specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies and procedures; access online manuals.
• Apply Nursing Process to patient care.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and document nursing care.
• Administer medications and IV therapy; delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate on discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation on charts and forms.
• Coordinate with Case Manager and physicians for discharge planning.
• Operate and monitor patient care equipment safely.
