Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a dedicated CNA to support the Medical ICU at OMC Jeff Hwy. This full-time day shift role focuses on patient safety, basic care delivery, and collaboration with licensed nurses to maintain high standards of care.

Ideal candidates hold a state CNA certification, BLS within 30 days of hire, and CPI training within 30 days. Strong communication, reliability, and flexibility are essential to patient-centered teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current state CNA certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on patient age and criteria as appropriate for the unit.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts communication and care to individual patient populations.
