Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the ICU on the West Bank to work days. The role supports basic patient care under a licensed nurse, ensuring patient safety and effective communication with the care team.

The position requires a Louisiana CNA, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of BLS and CPI within 60 days of hire. The CNA will assist with plan of care, maintain a safe environment, document patient tasks, and adapt to diverse patient needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Louisiana CNA certification required.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• CPI training to be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Maintain patient safety and support delivery of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Complete documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe care environment.
• Perform duties as delegated by nursing staff in accordance with policies.
