Job summary

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine is seeking a PRN CNA to provide direct and indirect patient care under nursing staff supervision. You will assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, and moving patients, and may transport patients as needed.

The role requires CNA registration in Maine, BLS, and preferred 1 year of healthcare experience. This position is on-site with variable scheduling and a focus on patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maine.
• BLS certification is to be obtained prior to caring for patients and is to be kept current.
• 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers and other health care members to maximize successful customer outcomes and function of the unit.
• Precepts team members to job function.
• Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
• Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicates information and patient needs to oncoming staff and RN in a timely manner for follow up.
• Provides care according to the patient’s plan of care.
• Label and deliver specimens per policy.
• Maintain a safe environment and report hazards per policy.
