Job summary

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME is seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under nursing staff direction, including feeding, bathing, dressing and linen changes, and to assist with transfers as needed.

The role requires current Maine CNA registration, BLS to be obtained prior to care, and 1 year of healthcare experience is preferred. The shift is 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM with a salary range of $21.00–$26.64 per hour for this position.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA registration in Maine and obtain BLS prior to patient care.
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is acceptable per local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and families, physicians and staff to support patient outcomes.
• Precepts and orients team members to unit routines and patient care.
• Documents all aspects of patient care promptly in the medical record.
• Provides direct bedside care per patient plan of care and unit procedures.
• Labels and delivers specimens per policy and maintains safety standards.
• Supports unit quality improvement initiatives and patient safety.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
