Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Clinical Team Lead (Charge Nurse) to join our ICU team. This role serves as shift leader, resource nurse, and point of contact for patient care changes, coordinating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have at least 4 years ICU nursing experience, current Idaho RN licensure, and essential certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC). Prior charge nurse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current RN licensure in Idaho. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and renewals as required.
• Experience: At least 4 years of ICU nursing experience; previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments, reassessment and pain management in ICU patients.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform duties on the Charge Nurse Responsibilities document.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy.
• Assess and manage pain; educate patients and families.
• Revise plans of care based on patient response to treatment.
• Interpret lab results and act on findings appropriately.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care in ICU and other departments.
• Assist physicians with procedures and provide skilled nursing services.
• Follow five medication rights and minimize med errors.
• Develop teaching plans and involve families in learning.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary team.

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Clinical Team Lead to join our team!JOB SUMMARY: Clinical Team Lead/Charge nurse functions as the shift leader and resource nurse who advocates for patient care and safety as well as managing all shift staff members. As needed, the Charge nurse will also provide direct and indirect patient care in the hospital setting. Communicate with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers and interdisciplinary team, as appropriate about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Charge nurse will be able and prepared to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, can perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision to include the duties of the Registered Nurse. The Clinical Team Lead will be responsible to understand and perform all the duties specified on the “Charge Nurse Responsibilities” document and any additional duties as directed by ICU Manager/Supervisor.2. Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.3. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.4. Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.5. Ability to interpret results of lab tests; take appropriate action on lab test results.6. Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.7. Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.8. Follow the five 5 medication rights and reduce the potential for medication errors.9. Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.10.
