Job summary

UNC Health Johnston ICU Department seeks a clinical nurse to provide competent care for patients with critical conditions in a 16-bed ICU. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will coordinate care using the nursing process in a hospital setting and work onsite in Smithfield, NC on night shift.

Responsibilities include education, evaluation, implementation, leadership, patient assessment, planning and research.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation - Delivers care for patients with complex problems and follows nursing standards.
• Leadership - Supports unit goals and performance improvement activities.
• Patient Assessment - Assesses and prioritizes needs for safe patient care and discharge planning.
• Planning - Coordinates care with patient/family and multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Engages with current journals and ideas to improve practice.
