Job summary

Cook County Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care - Medical ICU at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital.

The shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and you will provide Safe, effective nursing care to critically ill patients and support families. Internal candidates are prioritized per the NNOC agreement. Typical duties include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, documentation, crisis management, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to starting employment (proof at interview).
• BLS certification (proof at interview).
• ACLS certification or ability to obtain prior to orientation (proof at interview).

Responsibilities

• Identifies and cares for the total needs of patients considering age-specific requirements.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment/data collection.
• Formulates an individualized plan of care.
• Implements and evaluates nursing care per standards.
• Documents nursing assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
• Maintains patient safety and responds to emergencies.
• Supports education for patients and families.
