Job summary

BayCare’s Mease Dunedin Hospital ICU seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to assess, develop, implement, and lead educational activities that grow clinical competence among ICU staff.

This full-time role requires an RN license, a BSN or higher, 3+ years of acute care nursing, and current certifications; you will design unit‑specific education, support orientation, and collaborate with leaders to improve patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• BSN or higher nursing degree
• 3+ years of RN experience in Acute Care
• Nursing Professional Development Certification preferred (ANPD)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, and lead educational programs for ICU staff
• Design unit-specific education based on learning needs and quality initiatives
• Support clinical orientation and ongoing ICU education for new and existing nurses
• Serve as a subject matter expert in evidence-based practice and clinical education
• Partner with clinical leaders and interdisciplinary teams to support quality improvement and patient safety
• Provide guidance on education requirements, competencies, and learning resources
• Act as a positive change agent to improve practice and engagement
• Perform RN functions and related duties as assigned
