Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (Health Provider).
• ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as required by department.
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification within 6 months of hire if experienced or within 1 year for new grads.
• BSN required within 5 years of date of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care as a competent member of the health care team.
• Apply the nursing process and document care using real-time computer systems.
• Assess patients, develop plans of care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications and manage pain according to standards.
• Educate patients and families, addressing learning needs and barriers.
• Participate in unit governance, staff education, and risk management activities.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and evidence-based practice.
• Adhere to ACLS/PALS/NRP requirements for applicable departments.
