Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Richmond is seeking an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision and coordinate production within the discipline. You’ll design systems, conduct site visits, and prepare deliverables aligned with client scope and budget.

The role emphasizes participation in professional growth, adherence to quality management, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years related industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling; related disciplines knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth.
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager with input to plans and timelines.
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work for timely budget execution.
• Identifies roadblocks and competing priorities that may affect scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
