Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an ICT Colo Regional Engineer to join a global engineering team overseeing the design, planning, delivery and operation of AWS data center infrastructure.

You will develop connectivity solutions for the physical layer and work with engineers to create pathway and cabling designs for construction and permitting. The role requires 10+ years ICT design experience in mission critical environments and extensive knowledge of data center mechanical/electrical

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data centre mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data centre design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centres, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• 10+ years ICT design experience in Mission Critical Environments.
• 5+ years of experience developing design documentation for construction and/or permitting.
• 5+ years working with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper plant designs and specifications.
• Review and approval of ICT pathway, cable and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
