Shift: 4PM TO 12AM

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 4pm to 12am

Role and Responsibilities

The Residential Counselor will provide direct support to the residents of Anna's House. All work is performed in accordance with CATCH policies, procedures, and professional mental health standards. The Residential Counselor will be a member of the Residential Service Team and will have the following major responsibilities:

Primary Duties:
  • Developing and implementing individual plans for clients and preparing them for transition to more structured residential or treatment programs.
  • Providing counseling and training in personal care, life skills, conflict resolution, and related areas.
  • Facilitating interactions among clients and co-leading group activities.
  • Assisting clients in learning and achieving activities of daily living.
  • Completing all required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Accompanying clients on off-unit activities.
  • Possibility of medication administration certification for Personal Care Homes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED required. Advanced studies in a related field are preferred. A minimum of six months experience in a human services setting involving direct contact with clients is required. Willingness to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.

Work Authorization and Security Clearance

Must have acceptable PA criminal history clearance, FBI clearance, and Child Abuse clearance prior to hire.

Position Details

Expected hours: 4PM to 12AM, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Physical Demands

Must be physically capable of assisting with personal hygiene, lifting clients, sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and restraining clients in emergencies.
