Job Description

The skilled pizza maker will be responsible for preparing and cooking pizzas according to the recipes and customer preferences. This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment and ensure the quality, consistency, and presentation of every pizza that leaves the kitchen.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and cook pizzas to the highest standards, following established recipes and customer preferences.
  • Stretch and shape dough, ensuring the perfect crust thickness and consistency.
  • Add and arrange toppings, sauces, and cheeses according to customer orders.
  • Operate pizza ovens and cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all pizzas are cooked to the proper temperature and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients when needed.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with prep work for pizza dough, sauces, and other ingredients as required.
  • Handle customer special requests or dietary needs as needed.

Competency

  • Previous experience in a pizza-making or kitchen role is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in food presentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy trays or boxes when necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practice

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This position operates in an office/hotel setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This role requires forty plus hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

There is less than 20% travel.

Required Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in commercial kitchen.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Compliant with state Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations.
  • ServSafe certified.
