Job summary

Wealthsimple is seeking a Manager, Internal Controls to build and run the ICFR program, ensuring regulatory obligations are met and a scalable compliance function. You will own the control framework, documentation, and testing, working with Finance, Operations and Engineering to ensure controls are designed, implemented and operating effectively.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal controls or audit, with hands-on ICFR experience under SOX or CSOX.
• Working knowledge of COSO 2013 and a CPA designation or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience using technology — including AI tools — to document, test, or automate controls.

Responsibilities

• Be the strong voice within Finance and Wealthsimple to shape effective controls around existing processes and design a framework for new products.
• Own ICFR program narratives, control documentation, and testing procedures; coordinate with control owners.
• Lead walkthroughs and testing plans for annual ICFR, including internal or co-sourced testing; remediate deficiencies as needed.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, coordinating evidence, walkthroughs and remediation for audits (Financial reporting, SOC 1, others).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess impact of business decisions on financial processes, operations and engineering; develop controls documentation and AI-enabled tooling.
