Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is seeking team members for cake production lines. You will operate equipment, monitor quality, and ensure the line runs efficiently. Adherence to safety, GMPs, and company standards is essential as you support production goals.

Responsibilities include paperwork, line readiness, and cross-training in other areas. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work 8–12 hour shifts, and thrive in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• 12 months of continuous manufacturing work experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong safety record and GMPs knowledge.
• Good attendance and housekeeping.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work 8–12 hour shifts.
• Able to work in cold and hot production environments.
• Willing to cross-train in other areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cake production lines and equipment to ensure quality output.
• Maintain product specifications and remove damaged items from the line.
• Keep line running with minimal downtime and proper setup.
• Complete crew sheets, downtime reports and other paperwork as needed.
• Adhere to policies, GMPs, SQF 2000 and Global Business Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Team Members spreads icing on layer cakes, either between the layers and stacks one layer of cake on top of the other, or spreads icing on the top and sides of the layer cake.
• Team Member must know the product specifications and remove damaged or rejected layers and/or cakes from the belt and places in the appropriate receptacle.
• Team Member must know and be willing to maintain the required number of cakes per minute.
• Team Member works with others as a team to complete tasks in an efficient manner, to ensure the line is ready to start and to minimize downtime.
• Completes paperwork as needed, for example: crew sheets, downtime reports, etc.
• All Team Members are required to adhere to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s policies, procedures, SQF 2000, Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Business Standards.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training on other machines and in other areas.

Requirements:

• 12 months of continuous work experience with the same employer in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior work experience in food manufacturing.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Practice good safety habits and have a good safety record.
• Practice good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
• Have and maintain good attendance.
• Practice good housekeeping at all times.
• Must be able to work with support groups to make sure lines are ready to start on time and minimized downtime.
• Must know product specifications and how to maintain correct specifications and lines speeds.
• Must be willing to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be willing to be flexible.
• Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to work 8-12 hour shifts - standing.
• Must be willing to work in a production environment requiring safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toe. All PPE is provided by Sara Lee Frozen Bakery.
• Must be willing to withstand cold and hot environments
• Must sweep and clean area during and after shift.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training in other areas.
