Job summary

City of Roseville is seeking a Skate School Instructor I to teach basic ice-skating fundamentals per ISI guidelines at the Roseville Skating Center. You will support lead instructors, assist with testing and progression of participants, and help run annual on-ice performances.

Qualified candidates typically have 1–2 years of group teaching experience, the ability to teach Tots through Delta levels, strong communication skills, and a concussion training certificate due on or before day one.

Qualifications

• One to two years teaching in a group setting or equivalent.
• Ability to teach students from Tots to Delta levels per ISI standards.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable and dependable for work schedule.
• Must have concussion training certificate by the first day (city-provided or current certification).

Responsibilities

• Instructs basic skills skating lessons following Learn to Skate and ISI guidelines.
• Communicate ISI policies and Roseville Skate School offerings.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Assist with skill placement for basic classes and patient supervision on/off the ice.
• Assist lead instructors with testing, advancement, and coordinating rehearsals for ice shows.
• Promote inclusive, diverse participation and positive public relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
