Job summary

City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Facility Operator to run the ice resurfacer and assist with maintenance at Vets Park. Responsibilities include snow removal and sanitizing high-contact areas, with duties during public skating such as rink attendant or skate sharpener as needed.

Applicants must be 18+, have mechanical aptitude and experience with large equipment, and obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire. Reports to Recreation Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Mechanical aptitude and past experience in using large equipment (such as large trucks, tractors, etc.).
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Certifications must be from an organization approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacer and other assigned motorized equipment.
• Maintain and upkeep the facility; perform snow removal and clean high-contact areas (locker rooms, bathrooms, benches, doors, etc.).
• During Public Skating, may be assigned as rink attendant or skate sharpener and other duties; report to Recreation Supervisor/Assistant Recreation Supervisor.
