Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking an Operator of ice resurfacer at Vets Park. You will operate the ice resurfacer and other motorized equipment, and take responsibility for total facility operation including cleaning and maintenance tasks.

During Public Skating you may perform duties as rink attendant or skate sharpener, reporting to the Recreation Supervisor. Required: minimum 18 years old, mechanical aptitude with experience in large equipment, and CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience operating large equipment.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment (free classes offered).

• Operate ice resurfacer (Zamboni) and other motorized equipment.
• Maintain and clean facility areas; snow removal as needed.
• Assist during public skating as rink attendant or skate sharpener; report to supervisor.

Job description

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.22
Operator of ice resurfacer and all other assigned motorized equipment. In the absence of the Recreation Supervisor and Assistant Recreation Supervisor, will be responsible for the total operation of the facility. Will also perform duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of the facility as assigned by the facility management including snow removal and spraying and wiping down high contact areas like locker rooms, bathrooms, benches, doors, etc. During Public Skating may be assigned as a rink attendant, skate sharpener, among other duties. Reports to the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Supervisor at Vets Park.
Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Mechanical aptitude and past experience in using large equipment (such as large trucks, tractors, etc.)
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division.
