Job summary

A2gov is seeking a facility operator at Vets Park in Ann Arbor to run the ice resurfacer and handle maintenance duties. The role requires physical work, a mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with public skating events.

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.22

Operator of ice resurfacer and all other assigned motorized equipment. In the absence of the Recreation Supervisor and Assistant Recreation Supervisor, will be responsible for the total operation of the facility. Will also perform duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of the facility as assigned by the facility management including snow removal and spraying and wiping down high contact areas like locker rooms, bathrooms, benches, doors, etc. During Public Skating may be assigned as a rink attendant, skate sharpener, among other duties. Reports to the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Supervisor at Vets Park.

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Mechanical aptitude and past experience in using large equipment (such as large trucks, tractors, etc.)
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division.
