Job summary

The Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center is seeking a reliable Ice Technician to join our Operations team. You will be responsible for daily maintenance and resurfacing of ice sheets between events, ensuring safety and quality for hockey and ice-related activities.

Under supervision of the Director of Operations, you will operate resurfacers and related tools, monitor ice conditions, assist with installation, and keep facilities safe, clean, and ready for events at Fresno venues.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
Experience with ice installation or maintenance preferred but training available.
Comfort working in cold environments for extended periods.
Ability to operate light equipment and tools safely.
Strong attention to detail with ability to diagnose surface or equipment issues.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist with setup and breakdown of ice surfaces, including resurfacing and patching.
Operate ice maintenance equipment such as resurfacers and edgers.
Support ice installation and ongoing maintenance tasks as required.
Monitor ice temperature, humidity, and building systems to maintain optimal conditions.
Collaborate with facility operations staff to prepare event spaces and meet timelines.
Communicate environmental adjustments needed to HVAC or ice plant controls.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on ice equipment.
Respond to inquiries from event staff and tenants regarding ice surfaces.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support other event operations as assigned.
