Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Rink Attendant to support indoor ice rink operations on campus. Seasonal, with evenings and weekends, you will help prepare rinks, perform routine maintenance, and assist with safety and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities include operating ice-making equipment, closing procedures, and coordinating with the Custodial Supervisor. Requires high school diploma or GED and prior rink experience is a plus; driving record must be clean.

Qualifications

• HD diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience with rink operations is a plus.
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist Rink Manager in preparing rinks for all rink-related programs.
• Operate and perform routine preventative maintenance on icemaking equipment including ice resurfacers, ice edger, and other equipment as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work during and at the end of the skating season.
• Clean Plexiglas shields and rink boards after each skating season.
• Secure and lockup rinks after night and/or weekend rentals and events.
• Clean rink areas, including rest rooms, team rooms, hallways, entrances, stands, players’ boxes, penalty boxes, locker rooms, and other athletic facility areas as needed.
• Sweep, wash and mop floors, empty trash, replenish toilet paper and perform other similar duties.
• Shovel snow at rink entrances/exits, emergency exits and other areas as directed.
• Contact and assist emergency personnel in the event of a skating injury.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
