Job summary

City of South Bend is seeking a Seasonal Ice Rink Attendant to assist in daily operations at the ice rink. You will greet guests, monitor skaters, and help with equipment setup and takedown while maintaining safety and a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities include check-in transactions, skate fitting, and ensuring compliance with rules. The role requires 16+ years old, flexibility for evenings/weekends, and ARC CPR/AED certification; training provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of skating is recommended.
• Ability to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a representative of the City of South Bend, demonstrating a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Provide a high level of customer service to guests and program participants, including greeting and monitoring all skaters.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and guests.
• Assist with the set-up and take-down of daily operations, including placement of firepits, stations, skate signage, skate tags, etc.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance while following all uniform requirements.
• Ensure a clean and organized workspace by picking up trash, checking restrooms, sweeping floors, and shoveling snow, etc.
• Responsible for being on the ice and ensuring the participants are following all safety rules.
• Responsible for assisting guests throughout the check-in process, including transactions, pulling & returning skates, and season pass scanning.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies, administer CPR/First Aid, and contact EMS; complete incident paperwork.
• Inspect the facility/equipment, report unsafe conditions, and assist with ice condition management.
• Attend all in-service training and staff meetings.
