Job summary

Canlan Ice Sports in Dundee, FL is seeking an Ice Maintenance Person to perform pro-active facility upkeep and regular ice resurfacing tasks. The role includes operating the Ice Resurfacer, performing ice maintenance, janitorial duties, and assisting with grounds care.

Qualified candidates will have experience with ice resurfacing equipment, a high school diploma or equivalent, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Experience with ice resurfacing equipment.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Team oriented with great communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Trade or janitorial experience is an advantage.
Organised, self-motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
Operate the Ice Resurfacer and perform ice maintenance tasks.
Winterize and maintain ice surfaces, including chopping/spudding and levelling.
Carry out ice painting and dasher board repairs as needed.
Perform janitorial duties and floor care per procedures.
Keep entrances, grounds and parking areas clean and safe.
Maintain checklists and records for ice resurfacer safety and maintenance.
