Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Designs Engineer, IC&E at the El Segundo refinery to design, test and maintain instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for safe, reliable operations.

You will support daily operations, outages, and reliability improvements, working with a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians in a heavy industrial setting. Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and protection is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; 15+ years may substitute.
• 3+ years in Electrical Power Engineering in heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and components.
• Troubleshoot I&E problems and propose reliable long-term solutions.
• Knowledge of induction/synchronous motor protection and ETAP studies.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, test, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide technical support for electrical power systems to ensure safe operations.
• Lead outage execution, maintenance, and reliability improvement activities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project execution and safety compliance.
• Assist with power system studies and commissioning of new designs.
