Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an RPG Programmer to develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. You will troubleshoot issues and contribute to modernization initiatives.

You will work with RPG III/IV, ILE RPG, and Free-Form RPG, plus ASNA Visual RPG, DB2 for i, and CL. Collaboration with business and technical teams is essential; on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing RPG on IBM i platform.
• Experience with RPG IV, ILE RPG, CL, and DB2 for i.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with technical and business teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
• Work with RPG III, RPG IV, ILE RPG, and Free-Form RPG
• Maintain applications developed with ASNA Visual RPG
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
• Support application modernization, system integration, and performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams
• Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards
• Participate in scheduled production support and on-call support as needed
