Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Lactation Consultant RN to support breastfeeding patients at the onsite clinic. You will provide clinical lactation care, collaborate with nursing and medical staff, and teach breastfeeding techniques while developing care procedures.

Required IBCLC certification and IL nursing license, with BSN and CPR/BLS. Experience in lactation is preferred, and a willingness to participate in teaching classes and community programs.

Qualifications

• BSN required and RN licensed in Illinois.
• IBCLC certification required for the lactation specialty.
• Current experience within past five years or new graduate within past two years.
• CPR - Basic Life Support (AHA) proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation consulting to breastfeeding patients and improve nursing care.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical staff and other disciplines to achieve goals.
• Teach and demonstrate breastfeeding care techniques to patients.
• Develop nursing care procedures for breastfeeding patients.
• Maintain patient interactions per ANA standards and promote safe care.
