Position Summary




Under direct supervision by department leadership, completes administrative and customer support duties related to Donor Testing Laboratory operations in a timely and accurate manner, with quality that exceeds customer expectations. Takes pride in performing tasks, executed at a high service level.

Responsibilities




    Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain donor privacy and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Use appropriate systems to accurately perform data entry functions.
  • Review preparation of all supplemental and 3'rd party laboratory testing.
  • Proof read own work for content, spelling, accuracy, and document format.
  • Handle reporting of all supplemental and 3'rd party laboratory testing.
  • Maintain, organize, and archive laboratory records for long term storage.
  • Manage customer requests and resolve sample problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Use written and verbal communication skills to provide exemplary customer service to internal
  • and external customers, and appropriately document interactions.
  • Support the maintenance of general supply inventory, as needed.
  • May train others on job tasks, as assigned.
  • Provide support to client services specialist and other administrative personnel as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications




Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years attendance at an accredited college, university or technical college with emphasis in a science /medical related field preferred

Experience

  • 1-3 years of medical related experience or training preferred
  • Data Entry, customer service and LIS (Laboratory Information System) experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for computers and strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to manage frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to adapt to change and understand the impact on laboratory operations.
  • Organized and able to efficiently prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time to provide a productive workflow.
  • Ability to work independently with structured written or oral instructions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Understands time zones and military time.
