Job summary

St. Luke School in Seattle seeks a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher to support up to 16 children ages 4 to 5. The role is approximately 29 hours per week, Monday–Friday with varying times, and follows the school calendar.

Training in early childhood education is preferred but not required, and the position reports to the Preschool Lead Teacher. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, faith-based learning environment, supporting IB framework and inquiry-based learning, and assisting

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma is required.
• Virtus (Safe Environment) training required.
• Active MERIT account with up-to-date STARS documentation and 10+ STARS hours annually.
• Completion of Childcare Basics Course (30 hours).

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues following school protocols.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students in care.
• Support the integration of the IB framework and inquiry-based learning.
• Ensure a licensed classroom in compliance with licensing requirements.
• Model faith-based, age-appropriate instruction reflecting Catholic traditions and values.
• Participate in school events, including evening performances.
