Job summary

Prospect Schools is seeking a SY 26-27 6-8 Reading Interventionist in Brooklyn, NY to deliver inclusive literacy instruction and targeted support across MS Reading Enrichment and ES literacy support. A Bachelors degree, teaching experience, and experience with the science of reading are required; SpEd certification is preferred and NY teaching licensure is encouraged.

Qualifications

• You have earned a Bachelors Degree.
• You have prior teaching experience.
• You have experience with the science of reading.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver culturally responsive, engaging lessons for a diverse classroom.
• Teach 4 sections of MS Reading Enrichment daily and support ES literacy.
• Use data and strong pedagogy to plan objective-driven instruction.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and instructional leaders for professional growth.
• Set clear expectations and routines to create a warm, supportive learning environment.
• Build a culturally sustaining classroom where all students feel valued and respected.
• Demonstrate a Team First mindset by collaborating across teams and participating in PD.
• Partner with caregivers and attend school-wide events to share student progress.
