Job summary

Lambda Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. You will shape the architecture and scale of IAM services across Lambda Cloud, spanning APIs, Console, Kubernetes products, and cloud services.

You will drive federation, SSO, SCIM, RBAC, and audit integration, ensuring highly available, low-latency operations. This technically engaged leadership role requires 9+ years of software experience, 3+ years in leadership, and a proven ability to guide

Qualifications

Nine-plus years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems with high availability and security requirements.
Strong technical judgment across cloud infra and IAM—authentication, authorization, workload identity, and policy enforcement.
Ability to engage in architecture discussions, test designs, and guide tradeoffs.
Proven track record of developing high-performing teams and leading through growth.
Experience driving cross-functional platform or security initiatives.

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and grow the IAM engineering team; hire engineers and foster ownership and high standards.
Define and deliver long-term technical and architectural strategy for Lambda's IAM platform.
Develop secure, scalable identity capabilities for people, services, and workloads from federation to workload identity.
Evolve the authorization platform with RBAC, policy evaluation, and least-privilege defaults.
Ensure easy adoption across Lambda services with consistent APIs and models.
Own Key Management Service including customer-managed keys and HSM-backed protection.
Ensure reliability, security, performance, and operations of mission-critical IAM services.
Translate enterprise requirements into durable platform capabilities and communicate health to leadership.
Balance complexity with simple experiences for customers of varying IAM expertise.
