Job summary

Lambda Labs is seeking an Engineering Manager for Identity and Access Management to lead the IAM team and shape the platform across Lambda Cloud. You will own architecture, scale, and reliability of identity, authentication, authorization, and key-management services, partnering with Security, Product, and Compliance.

The role requires building distributed systems with high availability and low latency, guiding engineering teams, and delivering durable platform capabilities used by all Lambda

Qualifications

• 9+ years software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading and developing engineering teams.
• Led large-scale distributed systems with high availability, security, and reliability.
• Strong judgment across cloud infrastructure and IAM — authentication, authorization, workload identity, policy enforcement.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow the IAM engineering team, hiring and developing leaders.
• Define and deliver long-term technical and architectural strategy for Lambda IAM platform.
• Build secure, scalable identity capabilities for people, services, and workloads.
• Evolve RBAC, policy evaluation, and resource hierarchy for least-privilege defaults.
• Make IAM adoption easy across Lambda services with consistent APIs and models.
• Own Lambda’s Key Management Service including customer-managed keys and lifecycle controls.
• Ensure reliability, security, performance, and operations of IAM services.
• Translate enterprise needs into durable platform capabilities and communicate with leadership.
• Balance complexity and flexibility for enterprise-grade IAM with simple customer experiences.
