The Israeli American Council (IAC) Philadelphia is seeking a part-time Community Engagement Manager to lead local engagement efforts, build relationships with families, volunteers, community leaders, and partners, and expand IAC's presence in the Philadelphia region.

The 10‑hour‑per‑week role reports to the VP of Communities and requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work evenings and weekends for events, and fluency in English and Hebrew to connect with diverse community members.

About the Israeli American Council:

The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the state of Israel.

Position Overview

The IAC Community Engagement Manager (CEM) will lead community engagement efforts in Philadelphia, building meaningful relationships and expanding IAC's presence, relevance, and impact within the local community.

The CEM will develop a deep understanding of the local community, identify opportunities and unmet needs, cultivate meaningful relationships, and create initiatives that bring people together around IAC's mission. The role requires ownership of initiatives from concept through execution and follow-up, while working collaboratively with and receiving support from the IAC VP Communities, IAC team members, lay leaders, volunteers, and community partners.

The successful candidate will identify opportunities and develop engagement strategies that deliver meaningful value and expand IAC's impact.

This is a 10-hour-per-week position, and he/she will report to the IAC VP of Communities.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Serve as the primary organizational representative and point of contact for the local Israeli American and Jewish community within the region.
• Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with community members, families, volunteers, community leaders, and local organizations.
• Lead community outreach efforts to increase awareness, participation, and engagement across organizational programs and initiatives.
• Identify emerging community needs, opportunities, and trends and communicate insights and recommendations to organizational leadership.

Program & Events

• Lead the planning and execution of local community programs and events that support organizational goals and community engagement.
• Coordinate event logistics, registrations, attendance tracking, and participant communications to ensure high-quality program delivery.

Marketing & Communication

• Develop and implement local outreach and recruitment efforts to promote programs, events, and organizational initiatives. Ensure all communications align with organizational branding and strategic priorities.
• Maintain regular communication with participants, families, volunteers, and community stakeholders through email, social media, and other communication channels.

Community Partnerships & Volunteer Engagement

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with local synagogues, schools, community organizations, and other partners to expand community engagement opportunities.
• Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities that support program participation and community visibility.
• Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers for programs and events.

Operations & Administration

• Maintain accurate participant, volunteer, and event records within organizational systems.
• Monitor program participation and community engagement metrics and provide regular updates and reports to the VP Communities.
• Manage participant and parent communications and address questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate closely with organizational leadership and cross-functional team members to ensure alignment and successful implementation of programs and initiatives.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and organizational initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong connection to both Israeli and American identities and familiarity with Israeli culture, community, and current affairs.
• Strong understanding and interest in the Israeli-American and Jewish community.
• Proven ability to build relationships and engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to identify opportunities and turn ideas into well-executed initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage workload, priorities, calendar, and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work comfortably with volunteers, community leaders, participants, and organizational leadership.
• Strong operational and administrative skills.
• Experience in the Israeli, Jewish, nonprofit, education, community-building, or related sectors is a plus.
• Speaks, reads, and writes fluently in English & Hebrew.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media, and commonly used digital communication and organizational tools.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends based on community activities and events

*Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period*
