Job summary

Lincoln Financial is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, automate, and operate our enterprise network using Infrastructure as Code. You will collaborate with the network operations team to implement scalable, secure solutions across data centers and campuses.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in IT infrastructure with hands-on experience in Cisco, F5, Infoblox, and related tooling, plus scripting and CI/CD as part of IaC adoption.

Qualifications

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
• 3 - 5+ Years of experience in IT system administration and/or IT infrastructure that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

Responsibilities

• Supports delivery and administration of an enterprise network across datacenter and campus.
• Serves as a technical escalation resource for frontline network support.
• Works with enterprise vendors such as Cisco, F5, Infoblox, Palo Alto, Arista.
• Deploys and maintains vendor management tools (Cisco Catalyst Center, Palo Alto Panorama).
• Uses telemetry tools like SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Nagios, NewRelic.
• Builds and evangelizes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts in the network domain.
• Partners with senior engineers to develop IaC discipline and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develops documentation and reference material per Lincoln policy.
• Coordinates with MSP for hand-off and support documentation.
• Keeps up with trends and incorporates them into solutions.
• Identifies process improvements to reduce workloads or improve quality.
• Maintains security of devices within responsibility.
• Acts as escalation point for complex issues.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders.
• May require after hours for maintenance windows.
