Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a part-time Basketball Referee II certified in Granby, CT. Under the Wellness Director, you will officiate games, enforce rules, and contribute to a safe, fun environment.

This role requires IAABO certification, physical endurance, and ability to work with diverse groups. CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire is preferred. Prior officiating experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rules and regulations for assigned game/sport.
• IAABO Certified (International Association of approved Basketball Officials)
• Previous experience with assigned game/sport
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activity
• Ability to adapt to changing working conditions
• Ability to work with diverse group of people
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain order in a group of people
• Ability to accept comments/criticism from others without internalizing
• Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times
• YMCA Program Instructor Certification and experience preferred
• Certification in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Referee assigned game(s).
• Enforce the rules and regulations of assigned game(s).
• Assist site supervisor in maintaining orderly and fun atmosphere for assigned game(s).
• Maintain game records and information as directed by supervisor.
• Ensure safety is always a priority.
• Know all emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary and submit them to supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
• Other related duties assigned.
