Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an official to enforce High School Rules for the YMCA Basketball League, working 2-4 games per night at the Burbank YMCA. You will handle score, stat sheets, and scoreboard as needed, arriving 15 minutes early and following detailed instructions.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure, resolve conflicts professionally, and assist with gym setup. A 21+ age, HS diploma or GED, and IAABO certification with 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment.
• IAABO Certified Basketball official with at least 2 yrs experience.
• Knowledge of the High School Basketball rules of Massachusetts.
• Be able to work Score, Stat sheets and a scoreboard if asked.

Responsibilities

• Work score, stat sheets and scoreboard if needed.
• Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled time.
• Receives and follows detailed instructions.
• Must be capable of working under pressure.
• Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner.
• Assist with the set-up of the gym before games and the clean up.
• Ensure a safe and positive experience.
• Work closely with the league coordinator to ensure the league runs smoothly.
