Job summary

Interstates is seeking an I&E Technician to join our team in Decatur, IL. You will test, calibrate, repair, and modify electrical and control systems across plant production lines, coordinating outages with operators and ensuring safety standards are met.

The role requires a state-issued journeyman electrician license, an associate in industrial maintenance or instrumentation is preferred, and experience with low-voltage transmitters and control loops. Strong communication is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must have state issued journeyman electrician license.
• Associates in industrial maintenance, instrumentation, or similar schooling preferred.
• Strong experience with low-voltage transmitters (4-20 mA), control loops, valves/controllers, motor controllers, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings and manuals to isolate faults and repair equipment.
• Must possess great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies electrical and control and instrumentation systems for plant production/process equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair PLC hardware panels including wiring, power supplies.
• Coordinate with plant operators to schedule outages for electrical and instrumentation repair/calibration.
• Must display superior understanding of safety.
• Other duties may be assigned.
